The Internal Round for Smart India Hackathon 2023 at the National Institute of Technology Patna, held on September 20th, 2023, was organized under the esteemed guidance of Hon. Director Prof. Pradip Kumar Jain and Dean (Student Welfare) Prof. Samrat Mukherjee, the event attracted 43 teams totaling 258 participants. This initiative underscored the institution's commitment to nurturing innovation and problem-solving capabilities among its students. The hackathon featured a two-round format, comprising an initial online submission phase followed by an offline presentation round. Each team presented their innovative solutions before two panels of judges comprising distinguished academics such as Prof. Bharat Gupta, Dr. Jyoti Prakash Singh, Dr. Akshay Deepak, Dr. Udai Pratap Rao, Dr. Kakali Chatterjee, Dr. Richa Agrawal, Dr. Bhabani Shankar Das, Dr. Devarani Devi Ningombam, Dr. Akash Agarwal, and Dr. Antriksh Goswami. This format not only assessed participants' technical acumen but also emphasized effective communication and practical problem-solving skills. The inauguration ceremony, highlighted by Saraswati Vandana and the ceremonial lamp lighting, set a motivational tone for the event. Hon. Director Prof. (Dr.) Pradip Kumar Jain delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the pivotal role of innovation and entrepreneurship in contemporary society. This ceremony underscored the institution's dedication to fostering a culture of creativity and excellence among its student community.

The hackathon's success was further evidenced by the enthusiastic participation of students from diverse academic backgrounds, united by their passion for technology and societal impact. One of the winning teams, selected based on their innovative solutions, even earned nominations for the finals of Smart India Hackathon 2023, while two were selected as reserve team.
